Early 1950's Explosion Proof Telephone

These intense phones look like they belong in a Soviet submarine (maybe they were) or in a futuristic movie from the 40's. I had one that I hunted out for a client that took me about a year to find. I got lucky this year and found two. These explosion proof phones are heavily housed to prevent that nasty spark that will set off a building like a bomb. Built for extreme and volatile environments this phone has a distinct look when mounted on the wall or (as I prefer) thread a pipe from the rafters and suspend it.
